Alberto Abelló

He has participated in over 10 national research projects and networks of excellence; has signed R&D agreements with companies such as Hewlett Packard, SAP, the WHO; and has acted as work package leader in the H2020 SUPERSEDE project, local coordinator at UPC of DEDS MSCA-ITN, and IP of the national project GENESIS.

He was coordinator at UPC of the Erasmus Mundus Master IT4BI granted by EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency) in July 2011, during the first two years of existence, then he moved on to coordinate the Erasmus Mundus Doctoral IT4BI- DC granted by EACEA in July 2012. Currently, he coordinates the master on Big Data Management Technology and Analytics at UPCSchool.

He regularly participates in the DOLAP program committee (of which he is a member of the steering committee) and DaWaK; and sporadically in other internationally renowned conferences like VLDB, CIKM, EDBT and being chairman of the program commitee of DOLAP in 2008 and MEDI in 2012. He is also member of the steering committee of the European Summer School on Business Intelligence (eBISS) and acted as invited speaker at EDA in 2011, and DOLAP in 2015.
