Teaching

The teaching activity of the ESSI department is mainly focused on the Facultat d’Informàtica de Barcelona (FIB), which assigns teaching to the department for the studies of Informatics Engineering, Data Science and Engineering and Degree in Artificial intelligence (GIA). These courses provide to students with the knowledge, skills and competences necessary to work in the field of Informatics and Data Engineering.

More specifically, the department participates in the teaching of the Computer Engineering (GEI), Data Science and Engineering (GCED) and Artificial Intelligence (GIA) degrees coordinated by the FIB, and Informatics Engineering coordinated by the Escola Politècnica Superior d'Enginyeria de Vilanova i la Geltrú (EPSEVG). It also participates in the teaching of the master's degrees in Informatics Engineering (MEI) and Data Science (MDS) coordinated by the FIB.

The ESSI department also participates in the Computer Science doctoral program of the UPC Computer Science department and in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate on Information Technology for Business Intelligence.
