George Bochileanu Parfenie

I have finished my Bachelor's degree at the Polytechnical University of Catalonia, Barcelona School of Informatics in 2021 with the Software Engineering specialization.

 

For my Bachelor thesis, I did a research project about a comparison between MapReduce and Spark. During the research, I developed a Datasets Profiler (which you can find here) to perform an exploratory data analysis to determine the better-suited datasets for a set of experiments. The purpose of the experiments was to be representative of reality. To automate also the experimentation, we developed a Testbed (which you can see here). In the thesis, we explained the comparison between the two systems and proposed use cases, and the conditions when one outperformed the other.
