    Participation in the Big Data Congress
    The third edition of the Big Data Congress is the biggest event related to Big Data in Barcelona, which is organised by the Big Data Centre of Excellence (Big Data CoE). Oscar Romero will be participating on behalf of the DTIM in the Big Data Technology: Infrastructure and Platforms session.     7th International Conference on Model and Data Engineering (MEDI 2017)
    DTIM has organised the 7th International Conference on Model and Data Engineering (MEDI 2017) in Barcelona. The goal of the conference is to provide a forum for the dissemination of research accomplishments and to promote the interaction and collaboration between the models and data research communities. A total of 26 papers were presented in 8 sessions, as well as two keynote sessions.

    BigNovelTI 2017 Co-Located with ADBIS 2017
    DTIM, together with the KRDB Research Group from the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, has organised the BigNovelTI workshop (co-located with ADBIS 2017). The workshop focused on novel techniques for integrating Big Data. Four papers were presented and a panel discussing the current trends on data integration in such scenarios took place.     Attendance of the 7th eBISS European Summer School and Doctoral Colloquium in Brussels, Belgium

    Course on NOSQL Databases at Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA)
    Last week Oscar Romero gave a 20h intensive course on NOSQL Databases at ITBA (Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires). Special emphasis was given on the need of new architectural solutions to deal with the Big Data principles as well as the relevance of modeling (based on the database workload and the database architecture). The course is part of the Data Science (Ciencia de Datos) postgraduate offered by ITBA. Thanks all for the great atmosphere and successful course!
