Retos project granted by the Spanish ministry

Development, Operation and Data Governance for ML-based Software Systems (DOGO4ML). DOGO4ML proposes a holistic end-to-end framework to develop, operate and govern MAchine Leaning Software Systems (MLSS) and their data. This framework revolvesaround a new proposal we call the DevDataOps lifecycle, which unifies two software lifecycles: a DevOps lifecycle and a DataOpslifecycle. 7th International Conference on Model and Data Engineering (MEDI 2017)

DTIM has organised the 7th International Conference on Model and Data Engineering (MEDI 2017) in Barcelona. The goal of the conference is to provide a forum for the dissemination of research accomplishments and to promote the interaction and collaboration between the models and data research communities. A total of 26 papers were presented in 8 sessions, as well as two keynote sessions.

BigNovelTI 2017 Co-Located with ADBIS 2017

DTIM, together with the KRDB Research Group from the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, has organised the BigNovelTI workshop (co-located with ADBIS 2017). The workshop focused on novel techniques for integrating Big Data. Four papers were presented and a panel discussing the current trends on data integration in such scenarios took place. Special emphasis was given on the need of new architectural solutions to deal with the Big Data principles as well as the relevance of modeling (based on the database workload and the database architecture). The project in the Postgrade on Big Data Management and Analytics of UPCSchool "Tourist Factory" by Beatriz Martín, Juan Pablo López, Yulia Zvyagelskaya i Rodica Fazakas won the Big Data Talent Awards of Barcelona Big Data Center of Excelence. Participation in the 6th eBISS European Summer School and Doctoral Colloquium in Tours, France

Our 1st and 2nd year doctoral researchers, along with Alberto Abelló and Oscar Romero, have participated in the 6th edition of the eBISS summer school and doctoral colloquium which took place in Uni Tours, France (http://cs.ulb.ac.be/conferences/ebiss2016/). This year, the program consisted of multiple topics about the state-of-the-art of Business Intelligence (BI) and Big Data analytics including: Graph analytics and databases, frequent pattern mining, and scalable real-time big data analytics. DSS from a RE Perspective: A systematic mapping

Stephany Garcia, together with Oscar Romero and Ruth Raventós has published a new journal paper about DSS from a RE perspective in the Journal of Software an Systems. This paper presents a systematic mapping of current literature of RE for DSS by using the well-known Klaus Pohl RE framework.
